  • MUTUAL AID PATHWAYS

MAP focuses on care, connection, and collective resilience. It exists to meet immediate needs while building systems of shared support that remind us we belong to one another. Every act of giving and receiving strengthens the fabric of our community.

Community Care Fund: Provides emergency financial assistance to families facing eviction, job loss, medical crises, or other urgent needs.

Cajitas Program: Small boxes, big love. Cajitas are curated care boxes delivered to families in times of transition or hardship. They include essentials like groceries, diapers, hygiene items, and personal notes of encouragement.

Mercaditos: A monthly community market where families prepare and sell homemade foods, crafts, and goods. Proceeds go directly to support participating families’ essential needs. The Mercadito not only sustains households but also celebrates the beauty, culture, and creativity within our neighborhoods.

Mutual Aid Network: A network of volunteers who organize around shared rhythms of care—offering assistance, childcare, meals, and translation help. This network also serves as a rapid-response system for community crises, ensuring resources move quickly to those most impacted.

  • SERVE

Serve focuses on community building, community trainings, base building, direct advocacy and welcoming new members of the congregation.

Know Your Rights Trainings: We provide constitutional right training to parents, teachers, and congregations with context around safety and immigration.

Base Building: We canvass, door knock, table, make phone calls, and send letters to better connect to our neighbors and communities about the issues that matter most to them. We work to inform and welcome our whole community into the work of The Remix Way.

Show Up 4 Your Neighbor: This program aims to teach neighbors and community member how to document, communicate, educate and advocate with neighbors about injustices and inconsistencies they may experience in the local courts and government processes.

Welcoming Committee: Our welcoming committee consists of members doing orientation sessions, outreach events, and community trainings to help new members understand more of the history, mission, and programs The ReMIX has to offer.

Direct Advocacy: Our direct advocacy program answers the call when community members name concerns and issues locally that require mobilization, support and action. We use tactics such as phone banking, letters, petitions, public comments, and protests to support the needs of the community.

  • DESDE

Desde focuses on policy and legal education. We have 4 projects up and running, as of October 2025:

Flip-A-County: Partnering with allies in counties outside of Nashville to fight the spread of 287(g) agreements between ICE and local law enforcement.

Show Up For Your Neighbor: Building strategic relationships in order to explore the development of larger projects.

Inside Education: Gatherings geared towards The ReMIX Way members.

Outside Education: Educational events. Partners/overlaps with TN education projects.

The poverty of the poor is not a call to generous relief action, but a demand that we go and build a different social order.
